The Shadows of Spring, 2022
(installation)
(installation)
Location: New Museum, 2022, New York, New York
This exhibition is the result of an unprecedented collaboration between Canadian artist Miles Greenberg(b. 1997, Montreal) and Brazilian artist Vivian Caccuri (b. 1986, São Paulo). Featuring newly commissionedworks developed separately and in collaboration, this show investigates how the phenomenon of vibrationis capable of generating collective transformative experiences. With sculptures, installations, embroideryworks, and sound pieces, the artists will form an immersive environment, inviting the visitors to go throughdeep adventures in the sonic dimension. Inspired by how different rhythms and frequencies can affectgroup dynamics (in temples, dancefloors, urban spaces, etc.), Caccuri and Greenberg develop this show asan experiment about the material, political, ideological, and spiritual aspects of the relationship betweenbodies and soundwaves. Thinking about the invisibility of the bounds that keep us together, this show willreflect on how sound can integrate communities and disintegrate preconceived ideas of what bodies – andcollective bodies – are capable of.
